Excerpt — “Rejection”

We’ve all felt it — that sting of being unwanted, unseen, or unchosen. Some rejections are small and fleeting; others cut so deep they bring us to our knees. It’s in those moments, face down and weeping, that we realize how rejection shapes us — how it tests our identity, challenges our faith, and dares us to love again.

In my own story, the deepest wound came through the end of my marriage — a rejection that stripped me bare and drove me straight into the arms of God. There, I discovered something profound: Jesus Himself was “despised and rejected,” and in my pain, I was sharing in His suffering.

Rejection doesn’t define our worth — it refines it. And if we let it, God can use even our deepest heartbreak to birth healing, empathy, and a softer, stronger heart.
